It’s been awhile…

How’s that for not spamming?? Ha!

Well, it has been a bit longer than planned. However, while we’ve been quiet, we have been working our butts off creating a book for you!

When Dave and I started this adventure, we tried to draw from all successes and failures of the campaigns that went before us. All had lessons to be learned from. While some were more important than others, all made very clear the importance of planning for the unexpected. How does one plan for the unexpected? I don’t know. I’ll tell you as soon as we figure that out. We did, however, agree on one very important fact; the book needed to be more done than not when we launch.

With that said, the book is WRITTEN! Art is almost complete! Colors and letters are getting started!

It’s high time that Dave and I start properly introducing you to our girls! A very important step because when you start reading about them, we want you to feel as invested in them as we do.

Family isn’t always what you’re born in to. Sometimes they show up in your life and fill a hole you never realized you had.

Georgia on Your Mind…

georgia.jpg

So I’ll be doing a series of blogs on our upcoming books covering both characters and lore. Today I’ll be covering our Texas Peach, Georgia.

Georgia grew up on a cattle ranch in Texas. She is the youngest of 7 siblings, and the only daughter. All of her brothers have varying super talents, but none of them have the superhuman strength of their little sister, who once lifted a full grown rodeo bull at the age of 7, to the chagrin of her father. She was 7 feet tall by the time she graduated high school.

Georgia is the heart of the Daughters of Vengeance. Most of the time she’s a flirty, fun loving, party girl, but mess with her friends and she will go full blown mama grizzly.

She doesn’t know exactly how her and her siblings all got their powers, but her dad told her it was “probably something in the water.”

Never Ending Process…

While I sit here editing the site with all the changes that have happened since I started creating the site sometime in January, I came to the realization I will never be done. Especially with how often Dave changes his mind. With that said, I am really excited to have this page go live soon even though I will most likely be having panic attacks over mistakes I missed, misspellings, or random things Dave decides to change last minute. Like colors. (I’m getting to that next Dave. I swear) So if you find any blips or oopsies, feel free to let me know. Hopefully you will find this site fun and informational. I’ve had a blast creating it and will continue to tweak it as we grow!

You all are amazing!

The Boss Speaks

We’ll be bringing you along on the journey as we create our first book. The artist is chosen and has already started workups based on my script! The story for Daughters of Vengeance starts with an outline. The whole story is written out and every paragraph is broken into a scene. I then script each scene. I think it’s about 19 scenes total and we’re going to try to fit it into 48-50 pages. In later posts I’ll show some of those pages.

But Indie Dave…What is Daughters of Vengeance ABOUT? Well, I’m glad you asked random blog reader.

Daughters of Vengeance is the story of sisterhood and werewolves. A young girl is saved from being torn apart by a savage monster. Her savior is a member of a small group of hunters called, well you can probably guess. This young girl is scratched and has to fight her inner monster, while the Daughters investigate her case. Will she turn? Will the Daughters end the reign of terror? Will Ally manage to keep her job long enough to edit the book?

Stay tuned!

A New Era In Comics!

Here you will eventually find random thoughts posted by Dave and me. Updates on current projects, new endeavors, and probably a few bad dad jokes. It will always be a surprise so check back often!

Just a little behind the scenes, this was one (of many) of the first iterations of the DoV logo. Dave is very picky, and while I give him grief over his request for multiple, numerous, and nitpicky edits, just know that his attention to even the smallest detail is what will make this and all Hardcastle books amazing.

Did I mention how picky he is?
